Is it possible to combine the best of South East Asian food with products from the mediterranean and do this with flair and innovation? For the last nine years that’s exactly what Steve Anderson Anderson has been doing in Ma Khin Café where he has developed a unique style of cooking. Next Thursday 26 October at 19:30h Steve will be explaining and celebrating his philosophy of Decolonial Food.
As Steve explains: “Decolonial food has allowed us to create a community that values diversity and embraces inclusion and cultural exchange. For us, sharing food around a table is an opportunity to promote dialogue and enrich our gastronomic cultures with kindness and hospitality as basic ingredients.”
Cookery demonstration: a journey to the heart of Burmese food.
After the presentation of the philosophy that inspires Steve’s food, there will be a screening of a short video of Steve’s last trip to Burma, the home of his maternal great grandmother. This will be followed by a demonstration of how this experience in Burma has influenced the evolution of the food at Ma Khin Café. After snacks and drinks we will be offering a special Burmese dinner.
Book now. We’d love you to join us for this experience of fusion between Mediterranean and Asian gastronomic traditions.
